On the unit
Turnover checklist
One list, including for the backup cleaner. Laundry starts first if the machines are in the unit. Photos go out before check-in.
Clock
- Guest is out. The clean starts now.
- Laundry is in the machine, or the clean linen set is inside.
- Host has the “started” message.
Kitchen
- Dishes washed and put away
- Counters, sink, and appliance fronts
- Inside the microwave, and the coffee maker emptied
- Floor washed after the bins are out
Baths
- Toilet, shower or tub, and glass
- Mirror and fixtures, including the water spots
- Floor, and a fresh towel set
Beds and the rest
- Beds stripped and remade hotel-style
- Floors vacuumed, hard floors washed
- Every bin emptied and the bag replaced
- Switches, remotes, and handles
- Restock matches the host’s list
- Thermostat back to the host’s setting
Before you lock the door
- Photos: kitchen, each bath, each bed, anything damaged, door locked
- Damage is in the same message as the photos
- Lights set, door locked, code left as you found the instructions
